Some of you might laugh if you saw the amount of First Aid and health related items I’m packing for our trip, but I don’t care, I like to be prepared.
So here’s a fun list of items that can be found in our First Aid kit:
- Plasters – various sizes incl blister
- Sterile gauze dressings – various sizes
- Light elastic bandage
- Elastic bandage/bandage crepe – heavy duty
- Two rolls of micropore
- Triangular bandage
- Sterile wet wipe pads
- Safety pins
- Antiseptic cream
- Burns cream
- Antihistamine cream and pills
- DEET insect repellent
- Sun Cream F50 (Yes, I’m pale and interesting)
- Pain killers
- Antacid tablets
- Swiss Army knife
- Personal medication
- A First Aid manual
- Diarrhoea Kit
- Mosquito net
Vaccines are incredibly expensive.
I’m in the camp of what’s a few hundred pound when we’re talking about your health. However, I think had I known just how expensive the vaccinations were going to be (for both of us) I would of tried to spread them out over a longer period of time.
But we don’t do anything by halves (bit of a motto) so we’re fully protected against:
- Japanese Encephalitis
- Hepatitis A & B
Apparently where we’re going we won’t need malaria pills, but we’ve got DEET spray and a mosquito net so all should be fine. We can always pick up some in Thailand if we move somewhere else.
